PROJECTS
Every project has a meaning and a purpose
BEAUTY
In this body of work, titled “Beauty,” I explored different sides of beauty and the steps that women take to feel beautiful. Initially, I wanted to capture the things women go through that are considered standards of beauty, but then discovered that the emotion in their faces and eyes was more intense than just simply the beauty standards. Society has made certain steps necessary to achieve beauty and they are not always pretty. These models unintentionally give way to their feelings and it shows all over their faces. These steps and standards are not necessary in making them feel their most beautiful. These photos are not just for the models, but women as a whole. My hope is for the viewer, and even society, to see these photos for what they are; a deeper look into the standards of beauty and the pain that often accompanies it, not just physically, but mentally. More importantly, I hope that you can learn to see past the masks. In this body of work, titled “Beauty,” I explored different sides of beauty and the steps that women take to feel beautiful. NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE
Newcastle Upon Tyne, England. The birthplace and hometown of my husband, Daniel Bowlt. What a beautiful town it is, full of history and beautiful landmarks. This was my first time taking landscape photos and I loved every minute of it. All of them are in black and white as I feel it captures the essence of the city.
SPIRITS TAVERN
This was a pro-bono marketing project I did for Spirits Tavern in Dahlonega, GA. This was my first project I did for marketing that included food.
INTERNSHIP WITH DRESS UP BOUTIQUE
This summer (2018) I took part in an internship with Dress-Up boutique. There I was taking photos of the jewelry.
